Recently, some friends and I got together for a creative and inspiring project: making prayer boards. It was such a joy to see how uniquely each person approached their design! Everyone’s board turned out a little different, reflecting their personal style and needs.
If you’ve seen the movie War Room, you might remember the concept of a prayer closet. This prayer board serves a similar purpose but in a more visible and accessible way. It’s a space where you can organize your prayers and keep track of how God is working in your life.
Here’s how it works: You can divide your prayers into different envelopes or sections, like family, friends, health, marriage, career, and so on. Then, you create a separate envelope for answered prayers. Over time, it’s amazing to look back and see how God has answered those prayers—a beautiful reminder of His faithfulness.
For my board, I decided to keep it simple with just two sections: one for prayers and one for answered prayers. I chose not to categorize my prayers into multiple envelopes because I like having everything out in the open. It feel it helps me stay focused.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I highly recommend gathering some friends to make your own prayer boards. It’s a wonderful craft project that fosters great conversation and connection. All you need is a corkboard and some crafting supplies. Many of the materials I used came from Dollar Tree, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of their craft section! My friend, who is the queen of crafts, used her Cricut and cut out letters for me, which added a special touch.
This project was not only meaningful but also a lot of fun. It’s something I hope we can turn into a yearly tradition. Whether you make it solo or with friends, crafting a prayer board is a beautiful way to stay intentional in your prayer life while enjoying some creativity.
I hope this inspires you to give it a try—you won’t regret it!
Hugs and a virtual cup of hot chocolate,
